Pensions and Divorce

As pension specialists we have been involved for a number of years in the process of advising solicitors and their clients.

We often act as a ‘sounding board’ for solicitors during the process of sharing of pension assets to clarify the different types of pension rights their client, or former partner, has built up over the years in various occupations.

We have a lot of experience in advising clients who have received a Pension Sharing Order where to place their pension credit and handling the process for them. We recognise that this is often a very sensitive time and the client may be reliant on the income from their award.

Trusts

We believe that the structured and disciplined investment approach we apply not only complies with the letter and the spirit of the Act but is also strongly in the interests of the beneficiaries themselves.

We will provide ongoing support to the Trust including an annual valuation report to the Trustees and any servicing required e.g. encashments, by the beneficiaries whenever required.

Probate

The outcome of probate for many people is the receipt of a capital sum, for which they require advice on how to make the most of it.

Whilst the money may have derived from probate the same issues ultimately apply and an identical approach to investment planning should take place.

As independent advisers we are also able to provide advice on all existing investments before and after probate has been granted. We have also assisted solicitors and their clients during the probate process, particularly with older pension rights and existing investments.
